The Bookmark Creek Trail encircles the wetland area and is an ideal circuit for walking, off road cycling or running along the flood banks of the Murray River.

The trail is a mostly flat catering for individuals and families to enjoy the wetland and creek scenery.

The trail starts at the flood bank (erected to protect the Renmark town area during the 1956 flood), just off Twentyfirst Street and encircles the wetland and creek area. The trail is approx. a 3.5km circuit and is designed to be used in an anti-clock wise direction, taking about 1 ½ hours at a leisurely pace. There is one main trail (marked with directional signage) and an alternative route for use in dry conditions only.

A number of points of interest and storyboards line the route, with seats placed along the trail. Another access point and car park is located at Hale Street, offering an alternate starting point. There are no bins, so please take your rubbish with you and use your discretion regarding trail conditions following rain and during high river events. The common vegetation found along this trail include red gums, black box, salt bush, reeds, lignum, melaleuca and samphire grasses.
