Welcome to the home of ‘Murray’, the State’s first regional autonomous shuttle (or driverless bus)!
Just turn up and go with Murray arriving approximately every 30 minutes.
Murray is an electric, driverless vehicle providing a free trial service in the community specifically focused on the mobility needs of the elderly, those with restricted transport opportunities, and the tourism sector.
This project is funded by the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastucture’s Future Mobility Lab fund in conjunction with world leading autonomous vehicle technology company, EasyMile, and Keolis Downer. A research component by Flinders University will be carried out for the duration of the trial.
Murray was launched in August 2019, where his unique design and name were revealed as a result of a public ‘design and name’ competition.
Murray provides a hop on and hop off service at six bus stops along the route, running approximately every 30 minutes on Tuesdays from 10am to 1pm and Wednesdays to Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Service does not operate on public holidays.
Once onboard, your host will provide information and facts about the town and project as you travel.
The Visitor Centre is stop 3 on the route so look out for Murray when he stops at the centre.
To access a copy of Murray’s schedule and mapping route please collect one from the Visitor Centre.
