FRUIT FLY OUTBREAK - Renmark and the greater Riverland area currently have a number of fruit fly outbreaks.  This has resulted in restrictions applying to the movement of at-risk fruit and vegetables within our region. The 2020 Renmark Riverland Rose Festival will be held from Friday, 16 October to Sunday, 25 October with the organisers working hard to ensure the event is COVID-19 safe. This popular festival has been held annually for 26 years and now grown to include all towns and communities in South Australia’s Riverland. To view the extensive program of events click here.

Festival Highlights:
- The Festival commences Friday, 16 October with the Institute Floral Display and approximately 20 Open Gardens throughout the district.
- The Institute Floral Display will be open on Friday, 16 October, Saturday 17 and Sunday, 18 October.
- The Festival Fair will be held on Saturday, 17 October at the Jarrett Memorial Gardens in Renmark from 9am to 2pm with the official opening performed by Michael Keelan, Presenter of “Out of the Blue” TV show and Radio FIVEaa.
- A “Rosie Lunch” will take place on Sunday, 18 October at Ruston’s Rose Garden.
- The Festival Dinner will be held at Ruston’s Restaurant on Friday, 23 October in the evening.
- The Open Garden section will run for 10 days (16th October - 25th October).
- The Calperum Connect Indigenous Project will incorporate ecology, education and engagement from a First People’s perspective.
