The Frank Harding Gallery is a unique collection of art, history and memorabilia featuring a 800sq ft. ceiling mural depicting Australia's most famous historical Bushrangers!
Description
Frank Harding (1935 - 1990) served in the South Australian Police until 1975 when he left to pursue a career in painting and art for a living. Since then his works in pen, ink, oils and egg tempera have been exhibited throughout Australia and overseas.
At the central Renmark site, there are two exhibitions to view with the first concentrating on Australiana paintings, memorabilia and featuring the ceiling mural depicting our Bushranger heritage which is viewed using a mirror and has an audio commentary that tells the many escapades of the bushranger era including those of Ned Kelly.
The second exhibition has over 70 paintings of World War 2 aviation combat scenes that have been signed and authenticated by the individual pilots who flew the planes plus a collection of clothing and war paraphernalia that compliments the paintings and happenings of this time in history.
The gallery is now maintained by his family and open by appointment with just a phone call to arrange a time. Groups bookings are also welcome. An entry fee of $5 per person is charged to view the gallery.
