Bert Dix Park

Located on the Paringa side of the Murray River, and with views of the Paringa Bridge, Bert Dix Park offers -

  • A large grassed area with mature shady trees and a willow lined creek running through the centre of the parkWedding Site
  • Views of the Murray River
  • Small fenced playground area
  • Vehicle access
  • Toilets
  • Power (only available from toilet block)
  • Bench seating, picnic tables and free BBQ's located throughout park area

Jarrett Memorial Gardens

Jarrett Gardens are located within walking distance to the Renmark Town Centre and offer a scenic garden setting for your ceremony. The site offers -

  •  A large, more formal park with extensive rose plantings, mature shady trees and a historic rotunda in the centre of the park

SS Ellen Park

Located in Lyrup (approx. 15kms towards Berri from Renmark), SS Ellen Park is a shady, open grass area overlooking the Murray River. The site offers -

  • A medium sized park area that opens directly onto the Murray River
  • Views of the Murray River
  • Fenced playground area adjacent to site
  • Toilets adjacent to site
  • Power 
  • Bench seating, picnic tables and free BBQ's located adjacent to site
  • **Please note there is an RV Park facility located within the SS Ellen Park precinct.  This does not impact access or use of the site, though impending users need to be aware and considerate of people who are staying at the site.

 Jane Eliza Landing

Jane Eliza Landing, located just upstream from the Renmark Town Centre, offers uninterrupted views of the Murray River in an open park space.   

  • A medium sized park area that opens directly onto the Murray River with minimal shading
  • Vehicle access
  • Toilets 
  • Power (various points available)
  • Bench seating, picnic tables and free BBQ's 

Lock 5

Lock 5 in Paringa is a beautifully maintained grassed space that opens up to the Murray River with the lock and weir functions as the backdrop. The site also offers toilets, picnic tables, free BBQ's and a range of historic displays and interpretive information on the river system.  All enquiries regarding the Lock need to be directed to SA Water on 08 8595 5114.

 

Steps to Planning your Wedding Ceremony

1. Once you have decided on the site you wish to use, contact the Renmark Paringa Visitor Centre on 1300 661 704 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to determine if the site and date is available

2. Staff will check and confirm the availability (or offer alternate options) and provide a Wedding Ceremony Application Form for completion and returning for processing.  The form can also be downloaded here ***Fees & Charges will apply for this type of activity and will be advised at the time of enquiry.

3. Your ceremony and event permit will be issued once all requirements are met and any fees and charges have been paid 

 

Terms and Conditions:

  • Permits are issued for wedding ceremonies only. Council does not permit wedding receptions to be held in any of our parks or gardens
  • Exclusive use is unable to be given for our park and garden sites, therefore members of the public will be able to access the sites during your event
  • Council requests no confetti be used and the parks / gardens be left in a clean and tidy condition. Flower petals are permitted
  • A liquor licence may need to be obtained for the consumption of alcohol in any public space.  Please contact Consumer and Business Services on 131 882 from 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday
  • Sub surface irrigation exists in many of our parks and gardens. Any temporary structures will need to be outlined on the site map in the application process and approval provided for driving any pegs into these surfaces (will require site marking that attracts a charge). Marquee weights or sandbags are alternate options
