Lyrup Flats is shady, mainly floodplain section of the Murray River National Park with great access to the river.
Description
The Lyrup Flats section of the Murray River National Park is located between Renmark and Berri and can be accessed from the Sturt Highway or Lyrup Road, adjacent to the Lyrup Ferry crossing.
The park incorporates approx. 2,000 hectares of floodplain on the northern side of the Murray River and provides wonderful opportunities for bird watching, walking, fishing and camping.
There are over 30 accessible riverside camp sites spread throughout the park, plus boat launching facilities and amenities. Camp sites can be viewed online and need to be booked prior to arrival.
Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash (under 2 metres) and under control at all times.
HINT: Make sure you download the maps for the park from the National Parks and Wildlife Service website or through the Avena Maps app on your smart device. Avenza Maps app allows you to navigate to your campsite using your phones inbuilt GPS without needing phone service coverage.
